Join Jeni for a creative hand-building workshop inspired by the beautiful, loose painterly artwork and nature-filled designs of Mark Hearld.
You'll be taught the techniques needed to create your own slab-built mug, learning how to construct and shape your form by hand.
Once your mug has reached leather-hard, Jeni will guide you through the process of creating and applying paper templates, using Mark Hearld's distinctive style of birds, botanicals and natural forms as inspiration for your surface decoration.
You'll then bring your design to life using coloured glazes, layering pattern and colour to create a unique and wonderfully characterful mug.
This is a relaxed and creative workshop, perfect for anyone who loves pattern, nature and making something truly individual.
No previous pottery experience necessary.
Following the course, your work will be bisque fired and then clear glazed before a final firing.
Your pottery will be available for collection 3 weeks after the course.
During term time we are at the studio each Wednesday morning (10am - 12noon), Thursday afternoon (2-4pm) and Thursday evening (6.30-8.30pm). Please call in at any of these times to collect your pottery.
CANCELLATION POLICY: As this is a one-off workshop it is not possible to offer a refund or exchange if you are unable to attend. Please consider finding someone else to take you place, just inform us of the name change before the day.
